PC is for playing games?!
Computers, particularly personal computers, have been used for a variety of purposes other than performing large calculations since their beginnings. PC gaming served a big purpose for personal computers from the 1960s.

Spacewar, created by MIT student Steve Russell in 1962, is widely regarded as the first computer game. If the alternative gaming system was the size of a car, like the PDP-1 computer that Spacewar ran on, the size of a PS5 console would never be questioned. Although the game never made its way into living rooms, Spacewar was common on large research-oriented computers throughout the 1960s.

The IBM Personal Computer debuted in 1981, bringing unrivalled power and speed in a relatively small package. Most modern computers share many similarities with the basic concept of this computer, which was introduced over 40 years ago. Microsoft Flight Simulator was one of the most notable early releases for the IBM PC, pushing the limits of the computer's processor, memory, and graphics, as more recent versions continue to do today.
Beginning of PCMR
On an online gaming magazine The Escapist, Zero Punctuation video review series, game reviewer and comedic writer Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw used the ironic expression "The Glorious PC Gaming Master Race" to criticise an elitist attitude he perceived among some of The Witcher's PC player base at the time of the game's release, who complained about the PC release of the game possibly being negatively affected by the console port of the game.Pedro's intention when creating this subreddit in early 2011 was to make it a home for PC Enthusiasts, a place where all of us could come in and share experiences, a place that didn't yet exist. The name's choice was not completely innocent as it was meant to grab a term that was used as an insult and make it our own (although still getting rid of "gaming" in the title since the community's purpose is not just gaming but everything PC), changing its meaning and re-appropriating it, in order to express the independent supremacy of the PC.
Do not confuse this with the fact that we have several elements of satire and tongue-in-cheek humor. Life isn't always serious or funny. Many times in life, you will share both serious and humorous moments with those you love or spend more time with. The PC Master Race is like life in that it is both serious and funny.
Never ending dispute among PC gamers and Console Players
